Hola como esta?

February 1 2016
Hiya! Yalrigh?

I have a bit of bronchitis this week but it's going away:)

Elaine Henson made a  Goliath for seminary and we tried to slay him.
It was really fun.

We had a good finding week. We are teaching E-- from Zimbabwe! I met
her on the bus and we talked about the Restoration the whole 40 mins of
our ride! We saw her again on Thursday which was great:)

And we came up with a new game. We assign each other a word to use in
our bus conversation. I gave Sister Katrnakova 'hola como esta?' And
she used it beautifully haha. She gave me 'Peter pan'! So hard! I sat
by a man wearing neon green reflective trousers and I said, 'oh what do
you do? Your trousers look like Peter Pan!'' Hahahahahaha it is fun.
Right now I am stuck on 'wallet'.

I got a haircut! It's not short, just a trim. But I'm happy :) :)

We had a good week

I love you!!

Love, Sister Coleman

Sikh and Ye shall find

January 25 2016
Hiya!  Ya'alrigh?
This week we had a worldwide missionary broadcast. It was so good. The trainings were all focused on the basics covered in the first 12 weeks training. One of the insights I really took away from it was that the Holy Ghost is the teacher and I am just his tool. I have been trying to be more sensitive to his promptings and guidance.
We also had interviews with President and Sister Stevens! I love them so much. Our discussion was focused on the Atonement and The Fall. We cannot fully appreciate the Atonement until we fully understand The Fall. I enjoyed it a lot and I understood a lot I hadn't before. I am excited to go back to the temple :).
Speaking of temples, on P-day last week we went to a Sikh temple in Ilford. I really enjoyed it. We had to take our shoes off and both the men and women had to cover their heads. There was a room to go pray where they read scriptures and also a kitchen where they served free food. They have 10 gurus which are like gods to them that they pray for guidance from. It was fun :)

Remember our awesome new friends we found last week? Yeah, none of them showed up to their appointments even when we had talked to them the day before and confirmed. But, we had a cool miracle from one of those anyway! We were on our way to the library to meet P- and I had a feeling that he wasn't going to be there. As we were walking in, I saw a man sitting at a table through the window and I had a prompting, 'that is the man you are going to teach.' We walked in, searched the library and P- wasn't there and didn't answer his phone. We counciled together on what we should do. Either go get dinner or go contact a potential friend that lived near by. But again I had the thought, 'that is the man you are going to teach.' so we went and sat next to the man reading at the table. We asked him about the book he was reading and then continued on to a conversation about faith and trials and God. halfway through the conversation I had another prompting thought. 'he is Muslim'. and then later he told us, 'actually I am Muslim' but it didn't surprise me because I already knew. We taught him about the Book of Mormon and he asked how he could get a copy. We gave him one and he said he was interested to read it. We got his phone number and we have been texting him this week. He is reading! :)
Sometimes Heavenly Father makes appointments for us that we don't know about.

We are also working with a man named E-. He is from Albania. I found his number in the phone log and we have called him a couple of times to set appointments but he was always busy. Then on Monday night, he called us and set up an appointment for Tuesday morning! wohoo! We had a great lesson despite his lack of English about keeping the Sabbath day holy, prayer, and God being our loving Heavenly Father.

We also are teaching R-. He is a refferal from the Ilford sisters. He use to live in Ilford a year ago and met the missionaries once. and just moved to Romford. We've only met him once but we had a great lesson on the Apostacy and the Restoration. He had lots of questions about corruption in churches and revisions of the bible. He said at the end that we had given him a lot to ponder about and that he would see us next week.
Something fun we did this week was go to 'Cosmos' with the Relief Society for dinner. I loved it. We also went and sang at Abbcross nursing home. They all loved it . We are going back to sing again in February with Sister Park and the elders and Carl Lee.
We are also preparing a Special Musical fireside on February 7. It is going to be fun. I am singing 'Make Me Whole' and 'Gloria' from the Lamb of God. I hope it all goes well.
I love you!

Our week was 'Jest' great : )

Hiya! Yalrigh?

We had a great great week! We had an investigator come to church that
we found on the bus. Her name is J-- from Ghana! It was so great
that she came!
Also there was a baby blessing and my good ole' friends the Jests from
Aylesbury were there! Oh how I love them!!!!!
ALSO ,I found out that Sister Phillips is serving with my dear dear
friend sister Andersen!! That is so cool! Now sister Andersen and I
can make sister Phillips room with us in Provo ;).

We are having a bus finding challenge with the elders which is really
fun. You earn or lose points depending on if you do or don't talk to
them. You get more points if you talk about the gospel As well as
extra points if you give them a pass along card and Double points if
you get a return appointment with them. :) it makes finding more fun
:)

Sister K and I are getting along great  and we have some potential
investigators we hope to see this week.

One of my favourite people in the whole world is James Park.
The feed really knocks him out because his stomach
doesn't do the digesting, his intestines have to work extra hard. That
doesn't make him feel very good. Please keep him in your prayers for
his physical health smile emoticon love you all!

God is good

hallloooooooooooo UTAH!
hahaha this was a very very happy week. But also a crazy week.
I feel like my soul is singing the Hallelujah chorus! I just feel so good and so happy. Why?
Well, I went on Exchange and I read a really inspired talk.  We've been working really hard and it has been really fun. I feel happy because I really am doing all that I can. That I am working to the best of my ability. (not my capability, because that shifts) but I am working hard and it feels so good. But it's not forced 'might' labor as I have done before. and it isn't 'might and mind' labor because I have done that too. I finally am working with my whole heart, and might, and mind. And they are balanced. And I am just striving every day to give my whole self to the Lord, to love him and do what he has asked me to do ungrudgingly. To wholeheartedly, willingly, finally surrender. To stop fighting him with what I want to do and just do what he wants me to do because I love him.
Sorry if that doesn't make any sense but it is the root of the change that has occured in my heart and I just feel so good.
'Moreover I would that ye should remember the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God; for they are blessed in all things both temporal and spiritual. and if they hold out faithful to the end, they are recieved into a state of never-ending happiness, which is paradise.....' -Mosiah 2:41
It is  a TRUE promise.

Okay so now let me share some of my week.
Vanessa Park, the Harpers, Carl Lee, us and the Elders are throwing together a Special musical fireside for February 7th. Its going to be great. Yesterday we picked out the songs and practiced. It was really really fun. I loved it.
We are playing a game on the bus to help us talk to people and it is really working. We are talking and now we are getting numbers, and NOW we are getting return appointments with these people.
We went on a blitz with the Zone leaders on Saturday to find a family to teach. and we did and we did and we DID. It was SO cool! we found a man named P- from Ghana , we found R--from Ghana who use to work across from the Acra Ghana temple, we found P- who is from Nigeria who has read bits of the Book of Mormon, and we found E--.
Well, E-- found us. We got on the bus to go to church, both of us sat down and there was a man standing in the aisle holding to the rod. He looked at my name tag, and then at Sister katrnakovas, mine, then hers.
Then he said, 'Sister Coleman, come up and preach to me.'
He then went up to the upper deck of the bus.
Sister K and I looked at each other and said, 'lets go!'
We went upstairs and he said, 'wow, I didn't think you would really come. tell me about your church.'
We taught him about the Book of Mormon and testified of how it is a companion to the Bible. We got his phone number and set up a return appointment.
He said, 'I have so many questions, when can we meet?'
We are seeing him on Friday with his wife. and he is going to come to church!! What a miracle. :)

The blessings of the Lord are upon us! and N--is getting baptised! not sure if I've told you about her- she is Portuguese, we were teaching her but she moved to Basildon. It was really a miracle that she was able to get a flat there. we were praying for her to have a place to live so her family could come be here with her. The Romford ward and the Basildon ward Relief Societies have been awesome.  Because she moved to Baisldon we stopped teaching her at the end of December and turned her over to the Basildon missionaries. The members are the key to her being where she is today. :)

I love you all! I am praying for you!!
Love,
Sister Coleman I

Sister Coleman I and Sister Coleman II

Hiya! Yalrigh?
Merry Christmas! And happy new year!
The Atonement is awesome. It just is so cool. We get to try again and
again. We can be changed. It is marvellous. I had two really amazing
experiences I wanted to share:

1st. I have been praying for the past couple of weeks to know if the
Lord is pleased with me. That may sound silly, but one of Satan's most
powerful weapons against me is to whisper that the Lord is displeased
with me. That I've messed up too many times, I say the wrong thing,
that I should have acted when I didn't, that I'm slothful and lazy,
and that the Lord considers me an unprofitable servant.
Hence, why I have been praying. There was one night when I prayed that
I did receive a great feeling that he was pleased with me, but in the
heat of the day, that feeling disintegrated. I should have talked to
that lady on the bus, I disagreed with my companion, etc etc. so I
began to pray with more distress to really repent and know that he was
pleased.
We come to Sunday and after church I was talking with a member about
faith. Then he said to me, 'the Lord uses all of our gifts and
potential. Every drop. And he is pleased with your gift. He is
pleased.'
I was dumbstruck. The words he had said and how it was phrased were
prompted. I cannot deny such a clear answer. Which is so cool because
guess what? I wasn't perfect on Sunday, nor have I ever been. I can
count on myself to be consistently imperfect. But I can also count on
myself to be perfect in trying. And the Lord is pleased with me. He is
pleased that I continue to practice and continue to keep trying. He is
pleased with all of us. So don't give up! Keep practicing. Keep
trying!

2nd: back to the faith thing. The other thing I struggle with is
having faith that people will listen and be interested in the church.
I was talking to my district leader about this and he said, 'sister
Coleman, someone is waiting for you.' AGAIN. It was like brother
Benites walked in and handed me his paper again. 'Someone is waiting'.
I was reminded of the reason I decided to serve, which was the
impression that I had made promises to people before we came to earth.
They made me promise them that I would find them and teach them of
their Saviour. I do believe that there are individuals I have met this
past year that I have fulfilled that promise to. But my time is not
yet up, and there must be someone else here in England because I'm not
released till May. Please pray that we will be able to find those
people. The people I promised. I believe that this particular mission
will not be finished in May. I believe it is a lifelong quest for me
to find these people and teach them of their saviour.

I also pray that you all may have success in finding your own
premortal promises. I love you!

Happy Christmas! And Happy new year!

Love,
Sister Chloe Coleman

Hiya!! Ya alrigh?
Happy new year!!
We had a miracle week!

We went to the Parks on New Year's Eve and played taboo. The people
who live above our flat were very noisy and drunk all night haha that
was interesting. On Friday we fasted for a friend . We continued fasting
through Saturday with a mission fast blitz
like the one last transfer. And there was Manna from heaven! Oh boy.

1st. I felt excited to find people and a potential confirmed for an
appointment.
2nd A former investigator agreed to a return appointment.
3rd We talked to a really lovely Catholic lady who boosted our spirits.
4th We went tracting in the evening and we chose 'Godwin terrace'
because we thought we would win with God haha. No one was home. Only one
man opened and he wasn't interested. We continued down the street and
then one lady answered and said, 'hi sisters' as she opened the door.
We were so confused haha. She told us that her sisters had taken the
missionary discussions when she was young and had been baptised. They
are now less active. But she told us we could come back and share a
message with her!
5th  Sunday we got on a bus and a young man said to us , 'are you missionaries?'
We said yes. He said, 'oh my cousin is a
missionary in Ilford ward.' What!? We found out that his mom is a
member and all his cousins. His mom goes to Ilford ward instead of
Romford ward but said we could come visit! SO COOL!

It was amazing. It was happy. :) All is well. All is well.

I am so excited for Sister Coleman the second! Or Sister Coleman II!
California is PERFECT for her! And the timing is the Lords. How much
better is it for us to serve at the same time then to spend a short
time together and then say goodbye again. I am at peace with it. :) my
favourite chapter in the bible is Hebrews 11. Read it. It is great.
Especially verse 39 and JST 40.

I love you!!

Love, Sister Coleman I   :)

Stripling Warriors

Hiya!
This week was a talk to everyone and try to find new people to teach sort of week. J-- dropped us (not sure why) but A-- and her Partner went to church in Ipswich!! woohoo! so great. N--is moving into the Basildon ward so we will be handing her off to the Basildon missionaries.

We went to London last p-day. We went to Oxford Street and saw all the Christmas lights, bought hot roasted nuts, saw a man roasting chestnuts on an open fire, went to the DISNEY store HAHA! and to a large toy store where we  played with all of the toys. haha it was a fun p-day.

I LOVED the letters from Grandaddy to Daddy when he was in England! haha they were brilliant!
I love you so so so much!
The Lord is aware of each of us. He hears our prayers.
I gave a talk in sacrament meeting this week and I shared this quote from Elder Bednar, it was powerful for me:
'The stripling warriors in the Book of Mormon (see Alma 53; 56–58) prayed earnestly that God would strengthen and deliver them out of the hands of their enemies. Interestingly, the answers to these prayers did not produce additional weapons or an increased number of troops. Instead, God granted these faithful warriors assurance that He would deliver them, peace to their souls, and great faith and hope for their deliverance in Him (see Alma 58:11). Thus, the sons of Helaman did take courage, were fixed with a determination to conquer, and did go forth with all of their might against the Lamanites (see Alma 58:12–13). Assurance, peace, faith, and hope initially might not seem like the blessings warriors in battle might want, but they were precisely the blessings these valiant young men needed to press forward and prevail physically and spiritually.
Sometimes we may ask God for success, and He gives us physical and mental stamina. We might plead for prosperity, and we receive enlarged perspective and increased patience, or we petition for growth and are blessed with the gift of grace. He may bestow upon us conviction and confidence as we strive to achieve worthy goals. And when we plead for relief from physical, mental, and spiritual difficulties, He may increase our resolve and resilience.'

The Lord hears and answers our prayers.

Not sure if you are experiencing the same thing, but this Christmas seems so much harder than last Christmas. And It has caught me a bit off guard because I am not one to really be homesick. I am pushing it aside, but it is something that keeps popping up in quiet moments when I feel alone.

I felt the spirit very strongly during the Sacrament this week. It was a promise of forgiveness and the chance to try again and again. I love you all!
SPEAK to you next on Christmas. :)
love,
Sister Coleman

I was not there in Bethlehem to hear the angels sing

Hiya!
It was a singing  sort of week :). We sang in town centre and gave out
flyers for the choir concert twice. We had someone walk up and ask for
a Book of Mormon. Which was cool:). We had some members come the second
time and it was so so fun. On Sunday, we had the concert. I sang the
Shepherds Carol from the Forgotten Carols. That was fun. I walked up
too soon haha and the audience laughed. It was all good thing. I also
had been fasting and had drunk so so much water before the concert
which was a huge mistake.... I really needed to use the toilet the
WHOLE concert. It was a miracle I made it through haha.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Havering came to the concert and wanted to
chat with me and the other soloists after the concert. The Mayor invited me to enjoy all the pubs in the area and I said that we don't go to pubs. He said that if I haven't gone to the pubs night life  I haven't experienced the culture of England. Hahaha. He also told me why Havering is called Havering (pronounced: haven-ring) there was king Edward the confessor he had been out hunting and had no money. A beggar asked him for money, so he said here 'have a ring'. Havering. Ba doom psh :).

( The gold ring recalls that, which according to a legend dating back to the twelfth century, Edward the Confessor gave as alms to an old beggar, while attending the consecration of a church dedicated to St. John. However it is not until later that the name Havering is connected with the legend, in a version appearing in a chronicle dated circa 1436. The beggar was St. John in disguise, and he latter returned the ring the King, with the message he should 'dispose of his goods, for within six months he shall be in the joy of heaven with me, when he shall have his reward for his chastity and good living'. The legend led to the erroneous belief that the name Havering was derived from the words 'have ring' uttered by the King, the legend gained so much credence that it is depicted in sculptures in Westminster Abbey and Ludlow Church. There is no contemporary record connecting the Confessor with Havering, but the legend strengthens the probability that he was the predecessor of Earl (later King) Harold who held the Manor of Havering. The Confessor's and the other Saxon king's links with area are recalled by the Saxon crown.)http://www.ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Romford

I went on exchange with Sister Fenu and that was really really good
for me. She served In Romford at the beginning of her mission. She was
able to help me make a game plan for the area. I also met with the
Bishop's counselour and set up a weekly correlation with him.
I'm also organising a young men and young women's Christmas party for
them to invite their friends to. We only had two young women at church
on Sunday and two young men. There are 12 less active youth and
families that I hope to activate with their families. Sacrament
meeting was quite small, but the members have great faith.
A young man, L-- was  baptised in Ilford on Saturday but he
moved to Romford so he was confirmed in Romford on Sunday. His spirit
is so strong.
Please  watch the new Christmas film #asaviourisborn and the
second video 'Why We Need a Saviour' at Christmas.mormon.org.  It is
powerful.

I love you!!!
