The Fellowship of the Unashamed

"*Many give the source for this as President Henry B. Eyring. I believe he quoted it, but he is not the author of it. The sources for this are somewhat unknown.  Many believe Dr. Bob Moorehead wrote it and there is
an excerpt  of it from his  book, "Words Aptly Spoken."   Others say that the poem was not written by Dr. Bob Moorehead, but rather an African Martyr for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.Written by a young pastor in Africa who was martyred for his faith. The note was found in his office after his death.Written by a young African leader and tacked on the wall of his house, days before he was brutally murdered because of his faith and preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ! The original-original source comes from Paul of the Old Testament "I Will Not be Ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ"
Whatever the source, it is powerful and are words to live by!"

The Fellowship of the Unashamed

am part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The dye has been cast out! I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made; I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won't look back, let up, slow down, or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tainted visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need pre-eminence, positions, promotions, plaudits or popularity. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk with patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor with power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, and my goal is Heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear!

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, divided or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, shut up, or let up, until I have stayed up stored up, and paid up of the cause of Christ.

must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till I know, and work till He stops me. And when He returns for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me. My banner will be clear.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ: for it is the power of God unto Salvation to every one that believeth." -Romans 1: 16

  1. Thanks for posting. One correction: Paul was not in the Old Testament! :)
You seem like a wonderful believer in Jesus Christ. I love many Mormon people and count them as my friends. I just really don't understand why the LDS church doesn't cut ties with its past, including its fixation on Joseph Smith and his writings.

  2. Thank you Billy. I hope you continue to count member of the Church of Jesus Christ as your friends.
As for your question why ties aren't cut with our past and our admiration of Joseph Smith:
Would you ask the same of Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John and their admiration of Isaiah? Would you ask the same of Elisha and his admiration of Elijah? Would you ask them to cut ties with these spiritual giants in their past?

Thank you for your friendship. As a fellow believer in Jesus Christ I pray we will both be dedicated disciplines of Jesus Christ and His love. That we will both be united in our need for Jesus Christ and His love for us.
