A doppleganger of Andrew and miracles on the Bus

hiya! ya alrigh?
This week we worked hard, we saw some miracles, we helped some less active members, but we didn't find anyone new to teach. We did LOADS of finding. I need to get better at my bus finding again and also be more bold to people. but, that is just how it is :)
Fun fact: Elder Holland and Elder Cook served as companions in the ROMFORD ward! I literally am walking where they walked and labouring where they laboured. That is really cool. There also was a lady who spoke in Sacrament yesterday (her husband is Elder Herbertson of the Seventy) who served her mission in Romford 30 years ago. I bet that was so strange. It made me think, 'where will I be in 30 years?' Maybe I will be giving a talk in Romford chapel :)
We visited a lot of members this week which I really enjoyed. Yesterday we wanted to try something new, so we went to Brentwood which is a village on the border of our area and contacted some old potential Investigators and some less actives. We had a good time, I met the English version of Andrew. it was really strange his name was Jonathan and I told him at the end of our conversation, 'you really remind me of my brother' haha. I don't think he thought I was too strange. He actually has worked in Salt Lake City and Provo for a company there. he has read the Book of Mormon and he thought it was interesting but he isnt looking to change religions at this point. He sings tenor in a Catholic cathedral and in a Lutheran church in London as well. He was carrying home a new suit he had bought and they cadence of his speech and they way he carried himself and his beard and hair all looked like Andrew haha. So Andrew has an English twin!
It was fun to be in Brentwood and to be somewhere new. It was gorgeous there (more rural than Romford) and We were able to meet with one of the members who I adore, Margo Taylor, who we don't usually see because she lives so far away :).
On to miracles:
We had a blitz with the Zone Leaders, Elder Jensen and Elder Silva. Elder Silva is from Brazil. We were tracting with them and really NO ONE was home. we only had 5 people answer between the 2 companionships haha. But as we were walking there was a lady walking her dog. Sister K and I started talking to her and found out she was from Brazil! So we called Elder Silva over and he was able to talk with her in Porteguese. She is looking for a church right now, and we got her phone number to set up an appointment in May when her parents go back to Brazil :) but we will probably try next week to schedule with her. It was a miracle that we met her when Elder Silva was there with us.
Another Miracle: Yesterday before we left for church, we said a prayer that we would find someone on the bus to invite to church. Now, the bus ride to the church is only 8 or so stops and on a Sunday. There isn't any traffic so its only about 5 minutes, which means we have to be quick in our invitations. Anyways, we got on the bus and the man I sat next to was on his ipad, so I thought ok maybe not him. and I turned to the man across the aisle to me. And there is a feeling that I get when I am suppose to talk to someone. Its kind of an uncomfortable feeling that doesn't go away until I talk to them, and I had this feeling with this man.
So I started talking to him. Asking him about his day and where he was going. He said he was going home to sleep because he had been out all night. I told him that I was going to church and then asked him, 'Are you going to church?'
He said, 'yes, with you.'
Me, 'okay!!!'
hahaha  Then I told him which church we were going to and introduced him to a member on the bus with us. He came with us and we gave him a chapel tour. He couldn't stay long, but we were able to show him the whole building and get his phone number. He lives in a different Ward boundary but it was still a miracle! We are hoping to teach him this week with the elders in Grays to pass him over to them. What a miracle! God answers prayers! and it was so prompt as well! it was amazing.
Well I love you all!
God Bless!

Sister Coleman

Hi ya

I had a really amazing experience in Sacrament meeting. I was fasting for 'purification' that is when you fast to know what the Lord wants you to change and then you 'fast' for 40 days from those things that you need to change. One of the things I am doing is 'everyone I talk to will know my purpose.' and the other ones actually were focused on joy and cheerfulness. It was a very tender moment when I realised that the Lord just wants me to be happy. :)

Anywhoo back to Sacrament. I was fasting and really pondering on Christ's life, his death and resurrection. I watched them tear the bread and place the white linens. I felt so full of rejoicing and begged for forgiveness for my many mistakes and made determinations to change. The words to the Sacrament hymn particularly touched me : 'As now we praise thy name with song, the blessings of this day will linger in our thankful hearts, and silently we pray. For courage to accept thy will, to listen and obey. We love thee Lord our hearts are full. We'll walk thy chosen way.'

The Sacrament is so amazing! The Lord is so amazing! We get to be clean and start anew every week!

I love you so much Mama. Thank you for your quiet strength and your bold testimony. Thank you for helping me get to the temple and recieve all the blessings that God has placed here on earth for us. Thank you for your valiant and bold testimony of the prophet Joseph Smith. It is etched in my mind how you have defended him and that I need to defend him too. I am grateful for how you have taught me to listen to the quiet whisperings of the spirit the gentle nudges and answers that he gives us. You are amazing. I love you!

Chloe Girl

Oh it is wonderful to me

Ahoj! Jak se máte?  :)

Hiya! We had a good week!
Timmy is MIA. Maybe he dropped us, maybe he got arrested, we aren't sure :)

We are teaching a part member family! They came to church last fast
Sunday just for the first time. We had been fasting for someone to
come and they did! What a miracle. We had a great first lesson
with them and they  testified of Christ. It was
amazing :).
The  came to Sacrament meeting . I think they all
enjoyed church :) :) such a blessing.

We did a lot of finding this week and it didn't all go as we planned
but we had fun and we worked hard. We also felt very guided and
inspired when working with some members.
amazing.

We toured Westminster Abbey today for free (because we are clergy
haha) and it was so cool! I saw where Queen Elizabeth I was buried and
where queen Elizabeth II was crowned queen. I enjoyed it. The building
was gorgeous.

I have really been studying about deliverance and the plan of
redemption lately. It just fills my heart with so much joy each time I
ponder on the goodness of God and how he has saved us. How we are
snatched and saved from death and hell. It really amazes me. 'I stand
all amazed at the love Jesus offers me, confused at the grace that so
fully he proffers me. I tremble to know that for me he was crucified,
that for me a sinner, he suffered he bled and died. Oh it is wonderful
that he should care for me enough to die for me. Oh it is wonderful,
wonderful to me.'

I love you all!
Ahoj!

A flat week.

Hiya! Ya alrigh?
Here's some answers for y'all:
How much time does Sis. K have left? We go home together. May 11. :)
How do you decide who is in charge of the phone in the companionship? Whoever is sick of it hands it to the other. Most of the time I end up with it because I put it in my pocket without thinking about it. :)
Are you feeling better? I am LOADS better. Yay for Anti-biotics. We stayed in the flat almost all week and I slept. Frustrating. But needed. My body really needed it. Probably will sleep again today and hopefully work all this week. I had an amazing blessing on Thursday. it was very powerful. Ask me sometime when I am home about what it said.

Do you ever eat scones? Yes. Do you like them? Yes. Do you eat them with clotted cream?  Yes.

What is your favorite non chocolate candy bar dessert you have eaten in England? Hi-chews.  Chocolate is great!

How often do you hear someone say or invite you for tea? all the time. it just means 'dinner'.

We really didnt do much this week. We worked Monday, where we saw the Parks for FHE and played spiritual Taboo. That was really fun. Tuesday, I slept again. then haha, we tried to do Oakcrest Trek for Young Mens and Young Womens. haha the only problem was the 'young men' they just couldn't take it seriously and were pulling each other and climbing over everything haha and laughing and being loud. They just couldn't handle it. But, it was still a good activity and they still learned from it haha.

Wednesday, I crashed. I was really sick and we went to the doctor to get medicine. Sister Henson was wonderful and  brought us dinner and all the ward members were calling us every 10 minutes to see if we were okay. NOTE to self: don't tell your mom you are sick if she has more than 1 contact in the ward!!!! She will contact everyone she knows and then they will ALL call you. ahahaha ;) No it was good. they took really good care of us. My companion became very bossy this week and made me go to bed instead of work, which was good because I probably would have gone out and worked.

Thursday I received a blessing, and slept, Sister Henson brought dinner again. She's amazing.
On Friday we went to Ilford for district meeting and it really took it out of me. Oh! we had a miracle! the district set a goal to find 10 new investigators on friday (for the rest of the week) when we only had 3 as a district. We told them we probably wouldn't be able to help, but we would pray for them. On Saturday, we went out and worked and tried so hard to find a new investigator but didnt. and on Sunday I slept again. But in the end they found 12 new investigators! haha! Miracles!
Another miracle this week was that all of our appointments called us to reschedule. So I didn't feel bad about missing them. And also, Timmy wasn't picking up his phone this week and we decided he must have been arrested, but HE CAME TO CHURCH! He wasn't arrested, his phone is in police custody, but Timmy wasn't, and he came to church! woohoo! We are seeing him today to find out what it going on.
andd yup! that was my week!
love you!
Something that I have been studying lately is the Plan of Redemption. that is the phrase that Alma and Ammon use in the Book of Mormon. It is wonderful :)

3rd times the charm!!!!!

February 16, 2016

Hiya! Sooooooooo Sister K and I are............. STAYING! Woohoo!
#3transfers  #weknewit  #killingitinromford  #theadventurecontinues
#thisneverhappens haha!
We are excited :) I think many members of the ward were praying I
would stay to sing for Easter haha.
This week was a crazy week. We had a meeting in London, another
meeting, planning, singing at an old folks home, teaching T--,
, church etc. But it was good. :) The
highlight of the week was when Sister K got her foot stuck in her boot
and we had to cut it off of her with scissors :)

An inside joke Sister K and I have is that a dog barking inside of a
house is actually a parrot mimicking a dog bark. So we will always
discuss if it is a dog or a parrot when we tract and dogs bark haha:)

We had a good lesson with T--this week about the Plan of Salvation.
He considers God to be the father of everything (which he is) but in
the sense that we as people are equal to a tree, or an animal in God
being our father and creator. He thinks it diminishes the glory of God
to say we can be like him or that Christ is his son. So any help from
Daddy with Islam viewpoints and teaching doctrine of Christ would be
appreciated :) I have been rereading Jesus the Christ to get a better
understanding of the antemortal role of Christ and how that plays
into his divinity.

Also the police came and checked on T-- at church. Not sure what
that was about, but he was texting them to tell them where he
was....... So..... Ya. Not sure about what's going on there. Maybe
they are his friends ;).

We had a good Valentine's Day delivering cookies to single ladies in
the ward :).

Pancake day was fun. :)

We fasted the other day and I felt a real clarity of thought as I was
praying. I learned a lot. We had some miracles about getting to see
people we hadn't been able to, and dropping people who weren't
progressing.
We've started visiting a  deaf lady, I-- is her name, she
is so great. Teaching her is really fun.  It's all an adventure.
Prayers for finding new people who are ready to progress are much
apprectiated. As well as prayers that we can be bold in finding people
to teach :)

I love you all!!
I am still sick. I have a fever. Prayers for health are also welcomed :)

We are working, we are repenting, we are trying, we are finding, we
are teaching, and God willing, we will baptise :)

Love, Sister Coleman I

Prove me here with

February 8 2016

Hiya! Ya alrigh?
Thank you so much everyone for fasting for me! I was sick this week
but then I miraculously got better on Sunday and was able to sing in
the fireside! It really was a miracle because I tried to sing on
Friday and I just couldn't, my throat was raw, and the notes were
strained and flat. So it really was a miracle that I could sing!

We had a crazy idea this week to invite someone to be baptised every
day. And it was so crazy that we saw miracles with it! And the zone
decided to copy us haha! One day we didn't have anyone to invite so I
called up a former investigator and invited him to be baptised over
the phone!! Haha! It was awesome but also tender. He did say 'no' but
the spirit was there.:)

We had a miracle week this week. We have 7 new investigators to work
with. That has never happened to me in one week before. It is crazy.
1. S-. We have been working with a Polish lady named E-.
She doesn't speak very much English but Polish and Czech are similar
so Sister K can communicate :). We were teaching her on Monday
about baptism when her husband S-came in and started teaching
him too!
2. We found a name and address in our area book of a lady that lives
near us and we decided to try and see her. She wasn't home but her
husband was and said she would be home in the afternoon. Our afternoon
appointment cancelled and we decided to try seeing this lady, S--
is her name. She wasn't home but her husband gave us her phone
number. The next evening we were on our way to a dinner appointment
when a lady at the bus stop across he street started waving at us. We
were thinking, 'what the heck? Who is this lady?' So we crossed and
started chatting with her. It was S--! And she wanted us to come to
her house.
A week later (this week) we went to S--house. We started teaching
her and then her daughter came in. Then her  son
came, and her other  son, and finally her husband joined us as well!
We taught them all the Restoration! Then the husband went and bought
us Chinese takeaway! Haha it was the craziest thing ever! They are
from Sri Lanka.
3. T- is the man that the Holy Ghost prompted us to talk to
in the library a week ago. Well we called him and set a return
appointment! We met him this Thursday and guess what? He has read all
the way to 1 Nephi 17!!! And he was talking to us and discussing all
the stories of Nephi and Laban and Laman and Lemuel! It was SO cool!
Another cool thing which we didn't know was that the member we brought
with us, Kimberly Jest, is a religious education teacher! And she knew
all about Islam! She was able to help us so much! And T- accepted a
baptismal date and also came to church! Please pray for him to gain a
testimony of Jesus Christ as the Son of God.
4. We fasted this Sunday that my voice would get better so I could
sing and also that someone would come to church. Well, God is a God of
miracles and T- came AND a less active man who just moved to
England from Portugal with his non member partner! Woohoo! He bore his testimony in Sacrament meeting  and they
both stayed all 3 hours. Also a less active we have been working with,
came to church! As well as a recent convert who hasn't come
recently!  And my voice was healed so I could sing. The fireside went
really well. It was a miraculous week.

'Prove me now herewith saith the Lord if I will not pour you out a
blessing that their shall not be room enough to receive it!
Malachi 3:10
I love you all! Thank you for your fasts and your prayers! Transfers
are next week so email will come on Tuesday.

Love, sister Coleman :)

Hola como esta?

February 1 2016
Hiya! Yalrigh?

I have a bit of bronchitis this week but it's going away:)

Elaine Henson made a  Goliath for seminary and we tried to slay him.
It was really fun.

We had a good finding week. We are teaching E-- from Zimbabwe! I met
her on the bus and we talked about the Restoration the whole 40 mins of
our ride! We saw her again on Thursday which was great:)

And we came up with a new game. We assign each other a word to use in
our bus conversation. I gave Sister Katrnakova 'hola como esta?' And
she used it beautifully haha. She gave me 'Peter pan'! So hard! I sat
by a man wearing neon green reflective trousers and I said, 'oh what do
you do? Your trousers look like Peter Pan!'' Hahahahahaha it is fun.
Right now I am stuck on 'wallet'.

I got a haircut! It's not short, just a trim. But I'm happy :) :)

We had a good week

I love you!!

Love, Sister Coleman
